A broken-hearted owner is miraculously reunited with his missing dog after eight months. The overwhelming moment was caught on camera by the rescue group that made the reunion possible. The moment, hard to describe by words, shows the unique bond a human and a dog can share.
On May 2020, when he was only 4-month-old, Bandit, a sweet Malinois Shepherd, has been stolen from his family’s property in Côte-d´Or, France. Farid, the dog’s owner was devastated and he tirelessly searched for him, but it was all in vain as the the puppy was nowhere to be found. Though day turned into weeks and weeks into months, Farid never lost hope that one day he’ll see his furry baby once again.
Fortunately, after over eight months, Farid got a phone call that left in tears. But it were tears of joy as a dog matching Bandit’s description was found 300 miles away. The friendly dog was found wandering on the side of a road by a driver. When noticed he wasn’t wearing a collar, the kind man drove him to a local shelter. Thankfully, Bandit was microchipped, so when they scanned him, they were able to track down Farid.
When he heard the news, Farid jumped into his car to reunite his beloved companion. Both the dog and his human were so happy to meet again. The moment unfolded in front of the volunteers from the SPA de Montpellier, the rescue group that made possible their heartwarming reunion.
“I’m so grateful for everyone who had a hand in his recovery and I cannot stress enough the importance of chipping your pets,” Farid said. “Having Bandit home is simply a miracle that would not have happened without that chip. Bringing Bandit home was one of the happiest days of my life.”
