I know that parrots are able to speak. However I never heard a bilingual parrot, but this one definitely made to change my mind
Nigel is a grey African parrot who disappeared from its British owner’s home in Torrance, California. But to Darren Chick surprise, four years later he reunited with his bird, discovered in the same town. Only this time, the parrot got a different accent
When flew away, the grey parrot spoke with a British accent, but when was found he spoke Spanish. Nigel was found by Julia Sperling, a dog-grooming parlour owner.
“He was the happiest bird. He was singing and talking without control. He was barking like the dogs,” she said. “I’m from Panama and he was saying, ‘What happened?’ in Spanish.”
The woman first thought he’s a missing pet from an advertising she had seen. But after a visit to the vet, Julia realized her mistake and then she tried to track his original owner.
“I introduced myself and said, ‘Have you lost a bird?’ He initially said no. But he thought I meant recently. He looked at me like I was crazy,”the woman said.
Darren declared he had no idea where his beloved bird have been in the last four years, but he said “it’s really weird, I knew it was him from the minute I saw him.”
Despite his Spanish accent, the owner couldn’t hide his happiness when reunited with Nigel. “He’s doing perfect,” he said.
