A spectacular photo of a tigress walking with her cubs is going viral on social media, filling with joy the hearts of animal lovers and conservationists. The “magical picture” is nothing but hope-giving thinking the tiger population in India was on the verge of extinction a few years ago
The stunning snap shared by Parveen Kaswan at the Indian Forest Service and also a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, shows a unique scene. This female might be the first one spotted with five cubs. Normally a tigress usually has around two or three cubs.
Taking Twitter, Prveen wrote : “This is magical picture. Count the cubs with tigress. I know for a reason how few people will be elated after seeing this. Efforts are helping in making this species bounce back from verge of extinction.”

The Indian Government started a successful conservation program back in 2014. And since then, the tiger population increased over 33%. Now there are around 3,000 individuals living in the wilderness of India. That’s more than 70% of the world’s tiger’s population what counts around 4,000 individuals. According to the country’s Prime Minister, India is “now one of the biggest and most secure habitats of the tiger.”
