“He was head-butting the door open and going into her room and standing there,” the woman told Good Morning America. “Every time I shoo’d him away he would go back in…She couldn’t get air, she couldn’t get any oxygen.”

With the baby in the nursery room, the concerned dog kept entering the room, but Kelly has taken him out every time since he was waking up the baby. But she had no idea, the intelligent dog was feeling something’s wrong with his little human sister. So he kept bursting into the room using his head to butt the door, and eventually the mother realized that her daughter wasn’t breathing anymore.

“Last night the dog kept breaking into the nursery and waking the baby. She’s been sick, and I was getting so fed up with him,” the mother wrote on Twitter. “Until she stopped breathing. We spent the night in the hospital. I don’t know what would have happened if he hadn’t woken her. We don’t deserve dogs.”

Thankfully, the two parents made it to the hospital just in time, and after spending a few hours, they got back home with their baby girl fully recovered.

“Thanks for all the well wishes, everyone,” Kelly wrote. “The baby is doing much better today and we are home with Henry, who bravely held the fort all night even though he is scared of the dark.”
