For over a few years now, Stacee Jones is been fostering animals for the Jelly’s Place shelter in San Pablo, California. So she knew what kind of heartwarming things animals are capable of, but it was her last foster pair that impressed her to tears.

When shelter called her to take care of a mom dog that lost her babies, Stacee accepted without a second thought. But shortly after, tree tiny kittens were also in desperate need of help. But the caring woman had an idea, so she took the kittens too. She decided to present the orphan kittens to the momma dog, thinking she would help them both in this way.

“I was very careful,” the woman told THE DODO. “I sat down next to the mama dog and sat down with one kitten. I slowly showed her the kitten to see how she’d react. She took to the first kitten right away. She licked him.”

It is when Stacee realized it is much more easier than she thought. The gentle dog licked the kittens and took care of them, just like they were her own puppies. The dog’s motherly instincts kicked in and just as soon as the kittens snuggled next to her, that empty space in her soul started to fill in. Both the kittens and their adoptive mom found comfort in each other.

“It was very motherly,” Stacee said. “She knew what to do right away.” The heartwarming scene instantly put tears into the woman’s eyes. “I was like, ‘This is so beautiful. I’ve never personally seen anything like this. It all came together so quickly, like it was meant to be.”

Since that moment, the dog named Keeper, have nursed the kittens for over five weeks, showering them with love. “Even different species, and they came together,” Stacee said. “Dogs and cats don’t care. They just want and give unconditional love. It’s so special!” Now the kittens raised by Keeper are ready to be adopted. And they’re so beautiful!
