The devastating wildfires continue to rage through California destroying everything in their ways. With the blaze nearly impossible to be contained, hundreds of families are forced to flee their homes. But as people could barely save their own lives, their animals are often left behind. Unfortunately, the helpless animals stand no chance in front of the nature’s wrath. So every time a four legged is saved, it’s a miracle.
Recently, a rescue team was searching through the wreckage in Berry Creek – the most affected area, when stumbled upon a puppy. The first responders couldn’t believed their eyes when discovered the cute little thing was still alive. The puppy was found covered in ashes with only a few minor burns.
“They [the rescue crew] made an unexpected and welcome discovery on a large property in Berry Creek, this adorable puppy.” the Butte County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook. “The puppy had some minor burns and was picked up by Animal Control and taken to Valley Oaks Veterinary Center in Chico to be checked out.”
The cute puppy is a symbol of hope for the rescuers who’re tirelessly trying to save as many lives as possible. “These last several days have been hard on our entire county and we thought we would share a positive story today,” the sheriff’s office explained. “Our deputies decided to give this sweet puppy a name, Trooper.”
Over 3 million acres of land have burned so far in California. Thousands of people have been evacuated while thousands of animals, wild or pets have perished into the blaze. At least 28 major fires are currently burning all over the state and “nearly 16,500 firefighters continue working to gain containment.”
