Dogs do so much to help us overcome difficult moments in our life with their never-ending optimism and their endless supply of joy. And every once in a while, we get a chance to return the favor and do something for them. That being said, you should get ready to meet Nora the dog and 11-month-old baby Archie. These two have been best friends since the day they first met, and their story will definitely put a smile on your face and remind you once more just how powerful the connection between a human and a dog can actually be.
But let’s start with the beginning. You see, Nora didn’t exactly have an easy start in life. In fact it was quite the opposite of that. Nora comes from an abusive home and was left with massive emotional scars as a result of it. Due to extensive abuse, Nora was afraid of almost anything and anyone. Every time someone tried to get near her, the dog would lash out because she was afraid.
“At any time of day you’re likely to find a pile of kids, cats and/or dogs lying about the house somewhere,” Elizabeth Spence, Archie’s mom told the Dodo.
That’s until she met baby Archie. From the second the two met, Nora accepted the baby, and from that point on, the two become almost inseparable. The baby’s relaxed attitude is what firstly attracted Nora towards the baby, and over time, their connection only grew stronger.
“Archie is an extremely laid-back, happy, good-natured baby and all the animals seem to really respond to that, particularly Nora,” Spence said. “She came from an abusive background and is afraid of almost everything. Not Archie, though. She absolutely adores him!”
