The rescuers from Stray Rescue of St. Louis thought they had seen it all—until they received an unusual call.
“I just bought a house, and there’s a pit bull chained up in the basement,” the caller explained. “I have no idea how long she’s been there.”
When the rescuers arrived at the house, they found a black and white pit bull at the bottom of the stairs, staring up at them.
Despite what could have been a frightening situation, the pit bull greeted them with a wagging tail and a big smile.
Her chain was so short that she could only move within a small area.
After freeing the dog, the rescuers searched the basement and found a significant amount of feces, indicating she had been there for quite some time.
Once outside, the dog, nicknamed “Jumping Bean,” couldn’t contain her excitement. She bounced around and danced with joy as she finally experienced fresh air and human interaction.
Her happiness only grew as she embraced her newfound freedom.
Thanks to Stray Rescue of St. Louis, it’s likely that this joyful pup won’t have to wait long to find a forever home.
